Daycare and Down Syndrome Concerns to Consider
What is a parent to do when working outside the home is a necessity? When you have a special needs child, in this case, one with Down Syndrome, there are some concerns you should consider when choosing a facility for your child. We spoke with a New York based physical therapist who has 22 years of experience and he shared that with Daycare and Down Syndrome concerns to consider include a term he uses called “Container Syndrome.”

My beautiful, miracle grandson is 8 months old with Downs syndrome and the day care wants him picked up for simple conjestion!!! Even with a note from his Doctor, they still don’t want him to be there! Sounds like discrimination to me! I have suggested to my daughter (in another state) that she might want to recommend continuing ed for the care staff for Down Syndrome baby care. That way it might not lol so discriminatory. Any suggestions?
That is a tough call because many moms of children with Down Syndrome freak if another child has so much as sniffle (myself included), I don’t have any advice on this one, sorry.
